911 call by murder victim made in vain, suspect charged with second-degree murder

Police say a 9-1-1 call was made from the residence in which a female caller said that “Damien” was pounding on her door. Upon arrival, officers discovered the resident, Jennifer Burpee, deceased inside her apartment.

MANCHESTER, NH — Damien Seace, 35, has been arrested for the murder of Jennifer Burpee, 45, on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. He faces two counts of second-degree murder, according to Senior Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Agati.

Police officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance at Apt #708, 55 Amory St., in Manchester.  A 9-1-1 call was made from the residence in which a female caller said that “Damien” was pounding on her door. Upon arrival, officers discovered the resident, Jennifer Burpee, deceased inside her apartment.  Shortly thereafter, officers discovered her boyfriend, Seace, hiding in the apartment bathroom.

Seace has been arrested on alternative counts of knowing and reckless second-degree murder for killing Jennifer Burpee by inflicting blunt force trauma to her body with a piece of furniture.

Seace is being held awaiting arraignment.  His arraignment is currently scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 1 p.m.. in Hillsborough County Superior Court – Northern District in Manchester.  The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has scheduled Jennifer Burpee’s autopsy for Thursday, July 25, 2019.

All parties involved in this incident have been identified by the Manchester Police Department.  Anyone in the area of 55 Armory Street between 8:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, who may have seen or heard any part of this event is encouraged to call the Manchester Police Department Detective Unit at (603) 668-8711.

The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
