6 arrested after disturbance at USA Chicken

MANCHESTER, NH — Six people were arrested after a disturbance at a local eatery which started after a manager asked police to remove a disorderly patron.

On Feb. 20 at about 2 a.m. Manchester Officer Chad Tennis was working an extra detail at USA Chicken when several patrons were acting disorderly, according to police, so the manager asked the officer to remove multiple individuals.

Initially, Officer Tennis advised Bairon Munoz Benitez, 27, of Manchester, to leave the restaurant.

Officer Tennis attempted to remove Munoz Benitez, but he refused to comply and was ultimately arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Officer Tennis was dealing with the Munoz Benitez when another patron,Michael McClain, 26, of Manchester, interfered with the arrest.

McClain refused to leave the store and ultimately pushed an officer, which prompted a simple assault charge and resisting arrest. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on March 29, 2016.

Peyour Guguai, 25, of Manchester, allegedly ran interference by getting in Officer Tennis’ way as he attempted to place Munoz Benitez into custody. Officer Kevin O’Meara arrived to assist with the removal of Guguai from the premises, who became confrontational with the officers. He was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail and is set to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on March 29, 2016.

The incident involved many other patrons who were acting disorderly by refusing to leave the restaurant. Multiple patrol officers were dispatched to assist. Ultimately, three others were arrested for refusing to vacate the business. The other arrested subjects include: Charlene Rojas, 31, and Tiffany Brea, 24, both of Manchester; and Benjamin Harris, 26, of Hooksett.

Rojas was charged with Disorderly Conduct and released on $500 personal recognizance bail. Both Brea and Harris were charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. All three individuals are set to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on March 29, 2016.

Manchester Police Lt. Brian O’Keefe explained that police details at downtown businesses are common practice. USA Chicken has a detail officer every Friday and Saturday night, as do many bars and restaurants in the city which are required to hire a detail because of the increased calls for service their business has caused.
