MERRIMACK, NH – Three people were taken into custody on multiple charges following a pursuit on Wednesday.
At 9:28 a.m. Feb. 26, 2025, Trooper William Moran of the Troop B barracks was in Manchester when he observed a blue 2005 Subaru Forester traveling at 80 mph, where the posted speed limit is 30 mph. Trooper Moran caught up with the Subaru and attempted to conduct a traffic stop with his emergency lights activated, however, the driver of the Subaru continued at a high rate of speed and a pursuit began. The driver then got on the Ray Wieczorek Drive expressway headed west toward the Everett Turnpike, traveling at speeds around 80 mph.
As the pursuit entered onto the Everett Turnpike southbound, a Trooper working a construction detail was able to successfully deploy tire deflation devices while the Subaru passed by the area of the Bedford Toll Plaza. However, despite losing one tire and with multiple other tires deflating, the driver continued for several more miles before crashing near mile marker 12 in Merrimack. Following the crash, two female passengers were taken into custody, but the male driver fled the scene on foot. However, Troopers quickly located the suspect on a nearby road and took him into custody.
Troopers have identified the driver of the Subaru as Tyler J. Gagnon, 33, of Nashua. As a result of the investigation, Gagnon faces multiple charges including felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor counts of disobeying a police officer, resisting arrest, and reckless operation.
Additionally, the two female passengers, identified as Kendra L. Johnson, 29, of Manchester, and Nicole Cangimilla, 42, of Laconia, who were both found to have multiple active warrants their arrest. Johnson was transported to the Merrimack County Department of Correction on the warrants. Gagnon and Cangimilla were transported to the Hillsborough County Department of Correction and remain held on a no bail warrant and preventative detention. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Manchester District Court on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025.
Southbound lanes of the Everett Turnpike were temporarily closed due to the incident. At the conclusion of the pursuit, Troopers were assisted by members of the Merrimack Police Department.
All aspects of the incident remain under further investigation. Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper William Moran at William.J.Moran@dos.nh.gov.
