2025 Historic Preservation Award honorees announced
The Manchester Historic Association (MHA) is pleased to announce that it has selected five honorees for its 2025 Historic Preservation Awards, including awards to the First Baptist Church of Manchester and the Cohas Brook Trestle.


MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Historic Association (MHA) is pleased to announce that it has selected five honorees for its 2025 Historic Preservation Awards, including awards to the First Baptist Church of Manchester and the Cohas Brook Trestle.
The event will be held on May 20, 2025 at the Matarese Commons at the Derryfield School.
The Historic Preservation Awards program recognizes and supports the efforts of individuals, businesses and organizations that have made significant contributions to the preservation of buildings, neighborhoods, traditions, and other historic resources in the Queen City.
The Historic Preservation Award honorees are:
Homeowner’s Award
Richard Soares for his home at 443 Bridge Street
Stewardship Award
Lucia Merritt Carlisle for her home at 35 Oak Street
Conservation of Natural and Structural Resources Award
City of Manchester Department of Public Works for the Cohas Brook Trestle
City Landmark Award
First Baptist Church, 536 Union Street
Conservation of Cultural Resources Award
Antiques on Elm for their business at 321 Elm Street

“We received many impressive nominations this year, and our honorees represent a wide variety of historic preservation projects,” said MHA Executive Director Jeff Barraclough. “Each project reflects the care that the nominees took in preserving a part of Manchester’s history.”
General admission for the event is $125, and $100 for MHA members. The event is the 33rd annual Preservation Awards for the Manchester Historic Association and is the organization’s largest fundraiser. Proceeds will help in creating more interactive exhibits, expanding educational programs at the Millyard Museum, and caring for its extensive collection of historical material.

Founded in 1896, the Manchester Historic Association is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization with the mission to collect, preserve and share the history of Manchester, New Hampshire.
