2 homeless guys choke, stab fellow homeless guy at his makeshift camp

MANCHESTER, NH – Two homeless men were charged with beating up another homeless man July 18 inside his tent, accused of choking him until he couldn’t breath, and stabbing him.

At about 10:45 p.m. Manchester Police were dispatched to the Hess gas station, 311 Queen City Ave., for the report of an intoxicated man who had been assaulted. Officer Lisa Callahan arrived on scene and spoke with the 48-year old victim.

The victim told the officer that he was inside his tent, pitched along Interstate 293, when three men entered his tent and began assaulting him. He claimed one of the men, identified as Conrad Martel, 47, no fixed address, choked him and repeatedly punched him during the altercation. The choking actions impeded his ability to breathe, so Martel was charged with second-degree assault.

A second man involved in the altercation was identified as Jay Larose, 48, no fixed address, for allegedly punching and stabbing the victim. Larose was charged with first-degree assault. The two stab wounds received by the victim required medical treatment at a local hospital, but are considered non-life threatening at this time.

Officer’s located both Martel and Larose a short time later at the “campsite” where the alleged incident took place. Both Martel and Larose were taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters, and appeared in the 9^th Circuit Court-Manchester on July 20.
