MANCHESTER, NH — Give back during the holiday season by helping Queen City Bike Collective begin readying 150 bikes for the fourth annual Earn-a-Bike program for students at Beech Street and Gossler Park Elementary Schools.

You don’t have to be a mechanic to help.

This 24-Hour Wrench-a-Thon Event will be held next Saturday, Dec 1 from 8 a.m.- midnight and Sunday, Dec 2 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Queen City Bike’s headquarters, 35 Elm St., in Manchester.

The Collective’s board and staff are inviting the community to stop by and see the new shop and learn more about what we are up to. No experience necessary; all volunteers are welcome to pitch in for whatever time they can to help.

Through the Earn-A-Bike program, Queen City Bike has provided over 400 students at two Manchester elementary schools with the opportunity to earn a refurbished bike, helmet, lock, and light set as a reward for their successful demonstration of leadership skills learned through school-based leadership development programs.

“Over the past few years, we have been fortunate to partner with QC Bike to provide over 400 refurbished bike packages to fourth and fifth grade students at Beech Street and Gossler Park Elementary Schools” said Jaime Hoebeke, Division Head of Chronic Disease Prevention and Neighborhood Health at the Health Department. “This program would not be possible without QC Bike and we are very proud of this partnership as it truly exemplifies the power of collaboration.”
