MANCHESTER, NH – Never doubt one person’s ability to make a difference, or how that can be magnified when others join hands for a singular cause.

Take Luke Boutin, an artist and West High School grad who mounted a collaborative art show with several other aspiring young artists from both Manchester West and Manchester Central high schools for the first time in 2018. With an assist from his art teacher, Richella Simard, who helped orchestrate some of the details with Jupiter Hall, the week-long show, Together We Prevail, was a great success, raising $1,000 for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A second annual  TWP show was held in June of 2019, and an additional $1,000 was raised.

Shamera Simpson from the AFSP accepted the $1,000 check from the 2019 event last week.

“We just learned from Shamera that the money raised [this year] is going to be used to pay for ‘train the trainer’ training that is needed as a result of Senate Bill 282 passing mandating suicide prevention training for all teachers and students across the state,” said Dan Berube of Jupiter Hall. “It means so much to know – and to see – the direct impact we can have in our community.”
